He is also the Chairman and CEO of Pixar Animation Studios. Pixar is a famous indepent production company that prodeced films such as The Incredilbe as well as Toy Story. It is said that The Walt Disney Company is in agreement to purchase Pixar for an estimated $7.4 billion by the summer of 2006. Because of this transaction it will make Jobs the largest individual shareholder of Disney and will provide him with a position on the board of directors.
Personal Life
He moved back to California and continued to maintain a relationship with Wozniak while working for Atari, a video game manufacturer. Jobs, the free spirited man, then moved to India for some time and return to Califonia a different and changed man. It was on April 1,1976, that Jobs and Woziniak founded Apple Computer Co. The company’s first vision was to sell and market a computer design and format that Wozniak had created for his own personal use. Their first computer sold for $666.66
Nevertheless, Steve is still a strict vegan to this day, like his wife Laurene. He is known for lecturing his guests about eating meat, and he makes no concession to himself, apart from eating fish (sushi especially). One of his favorite meals is known to be raw carrot, without any kind of dressing. a journalist invited at his home described the meal he was served: “We dine as the Jobses always do: both are strict vegans, eating no meat products. Dinner is pasta with raw tomatoes, fresh raw corn from the garden, steamed cauliflower and a salad of raw shredded carrots. While the adults eat, their six-year-old son picks lemon verbena and other herbs in the garden for the after-dinner tea.”
Apdoted by Paul and Clara Jobs, Steve grew up in Santa Clara County, California. It was at a job in high school at Hewlett-Packard Co. in Palo Alto, California that Jobs met co-founder Stephen Wozniak. Jobs then went on to Reed College where he dropped out after one semester.

Ever since his teenage years, Steve has been a strict vegan. At one point he was a “fruitarian” i.e. he ate only fruits. He was convinced digestion was burning too much of his energy, the energy he needed at work when he stayed up several nights in a row. Nevertheless, Steve is still a strict vegan to this day, like his wife Laurene. Steve’s most famous home is probably his Woodside mansion, which he bought in 1984 and in which he lived throughout the 1990s. The house was famous for its grandiose dimensions (it was the party house of a copper magnate) and, especially, for its total lack of furniture.This is one aspect of Steve’s personality that hasn’t changed in decades: he is such a perfectionist that he can never decide on what to buy, thus ends up buying nothing.He did not sleep on a bed for years — even though he was a multi-millionaire. At Woodside the kitchen was the only room that was fully furnished. He did have a Bosendorfer grand piano and a BMW motorcycle in his living room however, testaments of his love of German engineering. A Times journalist described Steve's home as : “The Steve Jobs who is currently running two sophisticated companies lives in a turn-of-the- century English-style country house in Palo Alto with his wife Laurene. The house is run with a distinct 1960s flavor. Laurene has planted a garden of wildflowers, herbs and vegetables all around. The rooms are sparsely decorated, the only extravagances being Ansel Adams photographs.” Some things never change...
The iPod revolution
However the greatest momentum for Apple came from an unexpected source: the iPod. iPod was an integral part of the digital hub strategy. It was started in early 2001, when Steve Jobs realized that he had misplaced his enthusiasm for “desktop video”, i.e. the ability to edit movies on the computer — which was still far from mainstream. Pod’s breakthrough features — its beautiful design, its brilliant user interface and click wheel, its fast FireWire connectivity and its ability to sync with iTunes seamlessly — made it a hot seller from the start. For the first time, people were buying Macs just so they could use this little music player the size of a cigarette box. Apple cashed in on that success and went further in the following years, first by making iPod Windows-compatible in 2002, then by opening the iTunes Music Store and developing a Windows version of iTunes in 2003.

Steve Jobs is undeniably an extraordinary man by any standard. He has left his mark on no less than five industries: personal computers with Apple II and Macintosh, music with iPod and iTunes, phone with iPhone, and animation with Pixar. The middle-class hippie kid with no college education that he was built a computer empire and became a multi-millionaire in a few years, was fired from his own company before coming back a decade later to save it and turn it into one of the world’s most influential corporations, with millions of fans around the world. He has also contributed to the creation of the new leader in animated movies for decades to come.
