Absolutely it was a sheer brilliance to watch the emotes on the lead actors and the screenplay is non linear
The film opens up with a monotonous play and actors tell their back story and hence the film opens. The kid is actually ranbir and once deepika breaks up with him citing he is a boring person that triggers a schizophrenia in him and a flash back that says how he was forced to take engineering by his dad.

I was stopped watching after 30mins. There is no emotion all are artificial and fake.

the first half an hour they pretend to be an another character and hence you feel that the characters emote fake. After 20 mins the screenplay took off and the only thing is deepika's introspection wasnt shown elaborately.
