It's one of the few movies, which even being as a sequel is a lot better than its prequel.

‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ is top first weekend grosser in 2015; Eros’ scrip jumps

Boasting a net collection of Rs 38.15 crore (Rs 381.5 million), Eros International’s latest release ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ has become the top first weekend grosser at the box office in 2015.

The sequel to the 2011 hit film saw the lead actors—R Madhvan, Kangna Ranaut (this time in a double role), and Jimmy Shergill—essay the same roles.

With positive reviews and massive word of mouth, the film’s collections gradually increased every day during its first weekend.

On Friday, the film collected Rs 8.85 crore (Rs 88.5 million). On Saturday, its net collection shot to Rs 13.20 crore (Rs 132 million), and on Sunday, the collection was over 1.8 times of Friday, at Rs 16.10 crore (Rs 161 million).
