Tata Sky Changing LCN Of All Channels From October End

Earlier too i said that the life span depends on the power that satellites gets.isro is estimating the power according to the usage of power and availability of power.

But they may turn it off once tata sky get the replacement for that as gsat 31 is positioned at 83° and in the coming months gsat 30 too will be located at 83°

Thats the reality.but people shout for lcn changes and make them a big issue.

THAKUR raised a very valid point that prior to change LCN, subscriber communication is required and yes it is mandatory too.

And since Tata Sky planned everything in a haste and hence the communication was not done. So, they postponed the LCN change activity and now it will be carried out in a more planned way.

We all will be knowing the LCN at least 4-5 days in advance before LCN change takes place.

All dth is placing according to the priorities of broadcasters agreements.they are placing fta channels as per channels popularity.

We have options of choosing our favourite channels according to our own desires .so what's the great uncomfort a user have to worry?? If a viewer watching more than 50 channels then he can select the lcn .

I don't think financial agreement of channel distribution has anything to do with LCNs. Its completely DTH operator will which LCN to provide to which channel.

DTH earns by placing channels into special LCNs and putting it in top 3 category in every type of channels.

Right and that thing do not need renegotiation as LCN change activity is happening on Tata Sky side due to its satellite shifting thing.

Most of the broadcasters have already renewed their agreement when Trai new tariff regime was introduced.

Once the agreement done it's done until renewal.they can not change in anytime unless both parties want to change.the scinario is same for lcn.if any new channels addition agreement lcn will be adjusted for that channel according to the availability space in the lineup.

I don't know about contracts regarding LCN....I think about 2 years ago itself they had changed the LCN ...Now no need of it...I also think as even the migration is going to occur then too y these LCN changes needed..

But it is happening very soon as LCN number was shared with some broadcaster and later on the activity was deferred.
