Nope its not like that. They have a fixed Salary and little bit of incentive if they cross specific number of visits in a particular day. So, i think Tata Sky will only loss on the incentive part. Salary they have to give even if engineer make no visit.

Also, contracts is made at those places where Tata Sky own engineers are not present and they take help of local distributor in rural areas.

AFAIK all Technicians are not employees of DTH infact CC are not a employee of DTH they outsourced these departments by giving it some franchisee based 3rd party agency and salary made on as per visit distance, duration of job hour etc......

Every company have 3rd party agencies but that's doesn't mean they aren't company employees. They are as equal as top management but they are not confirmed employees and can enjoy only fewer benefits out of several given by company to direct employees.

I think almost all field service techs are contracted thru third party companies including CC. Contracts are made as per service visites & scheduled visits. Accordingly third party companies charge depending on purpose of visit. They pay salary & allowances to their employees.
I remember TS CEO Harit Nagpal said in an interview 2-3 years back about outsourcing all this...........

Its fixed bro. Salary is fixed and incentive depends upon their effort. I don't know exactly about Tata Sky but d2h, airtel and even dish tv have their own 3rd party staff in towns. In rural areas its franchisee based module.

I don't know about TS but as far as Dishtv is concerned, outsourced techs are doing the jobs..........Even I have visited the office of the company whose employees are techs..............Dishtv pays the comapny as per visit & techs get salary & allowances from their company.

In official terms they are not but as a wholesome they are Tata Sky employees because even the 3rd party company is subsidiary of Tata Sky only.
