hi there,
i stay in an apartment complex of 45 high end dwelling with approximately 125 TVs and all of us are on Tatasky, HD, + ,
And in our last association meeting we decided to explore other dth and cable operators for our complex hence most of the residents are unhappy about the number of channels being provided and the delay in rolling out new channels. hence on behalf of our community i spoke to a senior management guy of tatasky in Bangalore( One of the residents in our dwelling is a close friend of this person)..he informed me the following.....
1. ISRO has not handed over the GSAT10 TPs to Tatasky as Sun Group has raised objections to the same being handed before DAS roll out is complete..threatening law suit. please recall High court of Karnataka had stayed DAS roll out in two cities in Karnataka namely Bangalore and Mysore( which was of course dismissed yesterday)
Hence he says soon the TPs will be handed over to Tatasky and channels will be rolled out soon....
2.Tatasky shall be swapping Mpeg -2 STBs with Mpeg4 or Compatible STB's beginning May2nd week, as tatasky is migrating to Mpeg-4 compression soon.
3. he has asked us to wait 30 days before we decide to churn/migrate some other operator as there will be lot of things happening in tatasky in next 30 days. and he has agreed to meet us in our next association meeting personally....to impress upon us to stay with tatasky.
I am not fully sure the above mentioned facts are entirely true or feasible.....until unless this gentleman visits our premises in our next meeting
May be the experts in the forum can wet/research and rightfully comment to enlighten us all with true facts...
