I think TS will convert Existing 2 TPS to MPEG4 , all SD Channels may be moved to other DVBS MPEG2 TPs , New channels will be in the MPEG4 TPs , 1 TP will be for HD Channels . may be few SD Channels which r available in heigh packs may be in MPEG4 itself , surely they will not migrate the lowest base pack channels .

IM bhai, I will have a different view this. If I have to put my child in a school then I will choose a pvt school if I am living in today's India.
You are correct when you say that one needs to rely on gvt at times. But only if I have no choice and have to take railways route or have to go in IIT or IIM. I have to right decision and choose right things at right time. 6 years wait to all fault of tata sky. CEO is giving media byte on regular interval. He might be taking steps but none of the steps yielding anything is a fact. I try for IAS exam for 9 yrs starting from my age of 21 to 30 years and fail in my 10th attempt, noone will appreciate me. Need to firm and take right decision to suceed.

Shiwesh Kumar : yes bro I am somewhat convinced with your words that waiting for six years shows lame behavior of Tata Sky . They didn't learnt anything from dish TV, airtel and sun direct.
They must not completely rely on Indian satellite but as they had already made deal with ISRO, somewhere they were also caught in a situation.
Instead of relying completely on 12 transponders of GSAT, they must have booked 6 and opted 6 from foreign satellites.
Also, they took a long time to decide switching to MPEG4. They should have decided it long back.
No doubt he is a media man and like to remain in limelight but I am sure he also wish to grow his business and would surely be looking forward to compete Dish TV in figures. So, there must be his reluctance too for waiting and screwing his customers as well as business.

" labyrinthine bureaucracy " reason given by ISRO confirms what me and SUNIEL were talking about. It obvious then some political influence is being used in satellite allocation.
And we can only talk about it unconfirmed because such new are never confirmed by anyone and anywhere. But let's hope that this situation end soon and a better competition starts.
A better rather healthy competition. It's a matter of shame for us that we live in such a rotten system.

I think TATA SKY should public notice on all leading national newspapers on transponder allocation by ISRO, so that govt can wake up and allocate transponder space in the next five year plan
