Got new tsky hd cn month before. As of my experience since, service is just reasonable for such high price. anything and everything needs a fee. even msg for a addon cuts Rs3, cc call Rs.1/m, goes on.
Digicomp is ok, but adtv hd+ stb looks good comparably. In tsky dont have channel no. display on stb. Directly gets on post power cut, needs direct power off from remote. 60cm dish is good as enables to fit in any possible degree, vertical or horizontal.
Unwanted buttons in remote, may had place for future use. Long-press Back can do the purpose of Home. Closely placed buttons often lead to press wrong button selection eg., back btn inplace of down navigation btn. Rest all fine with remote as noticed.
Software is really pathetic with annoying ad blocks, small inapt font, elaborate unwanted messages, dark black background etc. Present stiff font type is not fine and round scripted font type like verdana are readable. Color pattern, must go with windows os like pattern or similar which are pleasant to see. msg details, eg., The "channel" is not subscribed. To subscribe the above channel, follow the instruction given below. SMS so and so to 55555. eg: SMS "channel code" to 55555. In place can have "Channel not subscribed". SMS "so and so" to 55555. Easy to interpret. The no signal, lock signal etc are other some annoying things. Removing those ad blocks all along is must for viewers. Why go and notice a ad when yourself in a mode of entertainment already or in urgency to reach a menu operation to reinstate your entertainment. The ad blocks take the place of menus displays. Hopeless to see such ads in such places. channel numbering is another one. Tsky has allotted every channel a number and in fav mode the sw assigns another number to the same channel. Need to remember both ordinary mode number and fav mode number. Someone said in a thread tsky follow everything same as of sky dth us. As entertainment is different in us and India, and the entertainment serving medium should be accordingly.
pq is good in some channels and avg in some other. with a single channel, pq keeps changing for alternative days/week. as absorbed star select hd, mn+ hd have fine pic quality with supporting audio (some time with clear tracked sound, think due to dolpy+ streaming for selected movies). aq does not seem to compliment video but the thing is it doesnt get noticed. claiming dvd pic quality with cd audio quality itself a good mismatch.
Packages are simply bulky. for eg., if want eng mov and eng entermt channels, have to opt for both pack 70+70=140. eng move pack should have mid sz and full sz packs with entertain channels like axn, star world etc in. if you go for al carte again it is 30+30 for axn, star world, leading to the cost of a addon pack itself. alacartes are high priced here and there. sd and some other dth are reasonable with this. Having most number of channels onboard is good plus for viewers along with hds.
HD access fee is another big thing asking to pay 175 (last month was 125) to view hd channels been placing some inside basic pack. Would be good if split it like 75 for 6 hds, 150 for 12 and further. some only want sports, some other movies or music, and why pay whole lot 175.
Real prob is with singal quality and dish sz. even for slightest rain, most channels goes off. Only after experiencing tsky, got to know that even cloudiness in sky hamper signal quality. Earlier with sd, signal cut off only while heavy rain. Hindi channels with higher tp strength holds there while rain rest all simply vanish. Even when ss is 80-90 for all channels how come sq vary in range like 20 40 60 80 for set of channels. The stb sq and ss bar indication is really inappropriate and does not reflect the actual signal strength/quality. For hd it needs 65cm dish but got installed with 60cm, many have confirmed this on threads. Any idea how to improve signal quality, especially while rainy season. In most channels audio doesnot sync with video on screen and why that happen? Earlier had DDFD and SD, and was fine.
