HELP Tata Sky+ HD: Manual Software Update Method Not Working

Hello everyone

I have Tata Sky+ HD set top box. In past the engineer used a single tuner LNB, so there was a single wire coming from LNB to set top box. The engineer used a "T" connection to divide it into 2 wires to attach with HD+ set top box.

Thanks to this forum, I came to know about double-tuner LNB and I asked Tata Sky to replace the LNB. Now I have double-tuner LNB and there are 2 separate wires coming from LNB.

Now there is one big problem! In past, I used to manually update Tata Sky software using Back+2465 trick. Now when I use this trick, the software does not update. It remains stuck on 0% completed screen.

I read somewhere in this forum that the manual method works when we use single wire with "T" connection. I did the same and the software updated successfully.

So now my question is will I always need to use a "T" connection to manually update STB software? Or is there any fix for this problem? Is this a known problem and happens with all HD+ users who use double-tuner LNB?

Also I want to know does Tata Sky STB automatically update the software when we use double-tuner LNB?

^^ First thanks for your reply. I used the first method, it also showed software update screen but same result. It stuck on 0% completed screen.

As I mentioned in my first post, I have tried "T" connection trick and it works. But my question is! Why double wire doesnt update STB software? I cant detach and attach cables each time to update the software manually.

I am also using Splitter for TS HD+ Box.

So havent used double cable for update

yes, i checked too, the first method is not working, u need to update from T/splitter connector/switch, u need to connect every time for manually update, i think, there is same signal needed from one port then its update manually.

For my recently upgraded HD STB, the release is showing as 102 and I heard some release of 109 is already rolled out for HD STB and I tried installing back+2465 method and s/w downloaded and installed without any error. Still showing release as 102. Is this the latest version for my Technicolor HD STB?

yes,its latest release, 109 & 107 is for Kaonmedia & Samsung HD STBs receptively.

So, the latest versions of TS are as follows:
102 - For Technicolor HD STB
109 - For Kaonmedia HD STB and
107 - For Samsung HD STB

Thanks for your replies guys. Just tell one more thing! If I dont update STB software manually, will it automatically update the software whenever a new version is available? I'm asking this because I cant manually update if I use 2 separate wires.

Why do you want to manually update? Why do you want to tinker with something which is working nicely? Why do you want to fix something which is not broke. Automatically, You will get the update when it is released by TataSky.
