I personally feel consumer court will rule in favor of T(S since the company is providing more channels by moving to latest technology and even T(S is providing STB replacement for free. While moving from Mpeg 2 to Mpeg 4 CEO would have discussed these with legal department before going to press.

I think noone understood what i tried to say.
They will add all new channel in MPEG-4.And all the existing channels will be converted to MPEG-4 after replacement of most of the MPEG-2 stb.Otherwise some of the existing customer will change to other dth and some will challenge it in court.

Ok.Let's see what ts is doing.

Update from my source is that wrt to tamil channel ....they are going to switch Polimer and Adithya channel to MPEG 4 in another 15 days and they will add Zee Tamil...

What he was trying to say me is that they are move 2 tamil channels from MPEG2 to MPEG4 and add 1 tamil channel in MPEG 4..

My source also added that they will add a bunch of Malayalam channels on or before September....

He also added that they will 1 or 2 Telegu channels which are most wanted...

Finally he concluded that its going to be TS diwali in terms of sales for this years sales during diwali season....

One more information what he had provided that 6 million TS customers have subscribed to Tamil, Telegu & Malayalam language pack so TS is going to add regional channels in the coming months...

Regarding HD...its 2nd preference for TS at this point of time...once they settle down with regional channels with MPEG 4 then they would start adding HD channels...

I don't think they will completely stop adding HD channels. This may irate many customers having HD boxes and paying HD access fee. TS already lagging behind in HD channel count.
