Two alleged Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) operatives were shot dead during an encounter in the Nalagonda district of Telangana on Friday night.
These SIMI operatives - identified as Mohammad Ejazuddin and Mohammad Aslam - were among the five who fled Khandwa jail of Madhya Pradesh in 2013. This encounter holds significance as these were the only two SIMI operatives on the run. Rest of the leadership is believed to have been wiped out.
