Ten Sports has bagged the rights to Pakistan’s upcoming series against Australia and New Zealand. Both series take place in the UAE later this year.

It has been learnt that Ten Sports paid $2.9 million to acquire the rights. However, no other Indian broadcaster including Star and Sony bid for the rights. The only other bidder was PTV, but their bid was rejected. Ten Sports officials declined to comment on the matter.

Pakistan clashes against Australia in one Twenty20 International, Three ODIs and two Test matches from 5 October to 3 November 2014.

Pakistan then plays New Zealand in three Test matches, two Twenty20 Internationals and five ODIs from 11 November to 19 December 2014. “For the past one year, the PCB has been issuing rights tender on a series-to-series basis. Of course when a tender for India series against Pakistan is floated, the ballgame will change and there will be more bidders,” said a source.
