I knew bro. IPTV do not charge for additional data only if IPTV and Data are from same service provider.

IPTV still requires a STB - while Internet Television does not.

I used to be an IPTV subscriber of Aksh Optifiber which used to provide services via MTNL broadband at around Rs. 200/month with no additional data usage. So, it was TV, Boradband and Landline - all 3 via a single humble copper wire.

The best part about IPTV is fab Time Shift and VOD features. Every program on any channel can be watched when you want without any recording feature on your STB.

However, IPTV works best on Fiber compared to Telephone (DSL) or Cable TV (Coax) wire. Hence, its popularity is low in India because fiber still has to replace copper in most homes.

Regarding Internet Television, while we have unlimited data wire line packages, we still do not have unlimited wireless 4G packages. Hence, Tata Sky's Everywhere TV has not been popular - imagine spending Rs. 150 extra for an hour of TV.

In UK, providers offer Unlimited 4G data (yes, unlimited 4G with no FUP) with unlimited voice/sms at around £25/month. Unnecessary hype about Jio in India...

Also, the speeds are rated as the slowest in Asia...

India has the slowest Internet speeds in Asia, but things are changing slowly
