First condition- That 66% is also a condition like Sony Six costs Rs. 40 in A-La-Carte so in bouquet its rate can't be lesz than 66% of Rs. 40.

Second Condition- Also if a package has 100 chs and it costs Rs. 240 then sum of A-La-Carte prices of all these 100 chs present in that package can't be more than three times of Rs. 240 which is the package price .

Third Condition - If RIO rate offered by a broadcaster for X channel is Rs. 10 then DTH can't offer it at more than Rs. 20 in a-la-carte.

All these conditions need to bw met. So u will see major changes in packages plua pricing. This is why time till April 1 has been given

Hope u understood now

I am still unable to understand this point.

Bro, when deals r done then broadcasters & operators come to an agreement that if a channel is offered in package then how much will it be its standalone cost and outside package what would be its cost.

This point is again to bring down a+la-carte price. If in a deal it is agreed that Rs. 40 is the A-La-Carte price of a channel then in package its price can't be kept less than 66% of this.

So overall both A-La-Carte price will become economical. Right now operators inflate A-La-Carte prices upto 5 times

sony six - 40 rs
bouquet rate is 100 rs. - which consists of three chnanels.
so in that bouqet price of sony must be 2/3 of a la carte - 40 *2/3 = 27 rs.

Thanks guys. I understand now but how will TRAi analyze that a particulat channel a la carte price is not greater then 66% in the bouquet because it will be a chunk of channels and not individual prices will be there.
