RIO is just a way to running from the contract not broadcasters & operators will have channels for ala carte only.

Yeah but then it will be tough for a-la-carte subscribers to go for it.

Right now we are having HD channels in add on basis only. Since we have to subscribe SD first.

Nai bro. HD channels are available in a-la-carte individually with all operators.

In dishtv we have only add ons, in Sun & RDTV too I guess subscribers needs to Select packages to get HD channels.

When a operator calls it HDAF then the customer is supposed to get all HD channels in package irrespective of SD channels whether the customer has chosen.

If they don't then then the operator should not charge HDAF or any other nomenclature.

Check again. It's mandatory to obtain dth or MSO license to provide a la carte to subscribers.

In RDTV & Sun I am sure that there is no ala carte & add on. In dishtv they scrap packages now have HD channels as add on only. Only 1 ala carte they offering that too of HBO HD.
