Well every channel has an audience, even ladies watch Hindi GEC's so there is nothing wrong in launching new channels for them, although that segment does not worry about HD or SD but still broadcasters launch HD Version of their channels for tapping in the elite segment amongst them and giving good viewing experience. Similarly i like channels like TV5 Monde Asie, ITV Choice , Australia Plus while others may not like them, same is the thing that goes with Religious, English or other channels.
My only concern is the bandwidth constraint which DTH operators have barring a few like Dish TV, so if they add Hindi GEC's more they will definitely avoid adding Premium channels like TLC HD, Animal Planet and Fox International Channels as their audience base is even less and hardly few people demand them, above all most do not know that these channels even exist. If DTH operators can manage adding new HD channels then i am open to the concept of more and more broadcasters launching HD Channels. If they cannot be added then its waste
