Murray ousted by Anderson, Wawrinka wins at US Open

Andy Murray crashed out in the fourth round of the US Open, making his earliest Grand Slam exit since 2010 to end his run of 18 consecutive major quarter-finals.
South African 15th seed Kevin Anderson stunned the British third seed 7-6 (7/5), 6-3, 6-7 (2/7), 7-6 (7/0) to reach his first Grand Slam quarter-final after seven prior fourth-round defeats.

"It was the match of my life," Anderson said on Monday. "This is a great accomplishment for me."

Sania, Bopanna in quarterfinals

Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis eased into the women’s doubles quarterfinals at the US Open with a comfortable straight sets victory over Michaella Krajicek and Barbora Strycova here.
The top-seeded Indo-Swiss combination produced a dominant performance to get the better of their 13th-seeded opponents 6-3, 6-0 in 59 minutes.

India’s Rohan Bopanna and his Romanian partner Florin Mergea marched into the quarterfinal of the men’s doubles competition on Monday after the sixth seeds defeated the ninth-seeded Canadian-French duo Daniel Nestor and Edouard Roger-Vasselin 6-7(4), 6-4, 6-3.
