the update is auto or need keep the STB in standby mood?

local videocon service centre is just behind our house
the guy told me that they will again test it upto 2 more days and today also an OTA will come but exact time is not sure (most probably at night)
he has recieved a mail regarding this OTA and new software for manual updation from d2h headoffice
he also told me that it will be good if we can keep our set top box in standby mode for whole na8

Update will happen automatically but as I have said earlier, STB should remain in standby or "ON" mode.

What I came to know is they are now flashing updates on all 2011 model set top boxes , so now everyone will get the update.

Also, oTA will start or happen only after midnight.
