D2h HD 2011 with DW ID 45 s/w update : MY REVIEW
Prons :
1) Booting time : is about more than 30sec(40-50sec) which is acceptable I guess with the existing(slow) RAM-Processor clock frequency and file,images loaded in new SW FILE package with the improved UI features.

2) Start up booting message : again same as DW ID 40 and not upto the mark.Putting it same could have been accepted more.

3) Overall UI looks excellent with transparent Background color : positives
- Attractive Menu bar options with transparent Background
- Attractive EPG option with transparent Background and text,BG colors.

4) EPG : Promising UI with fast performance : positives
- UI looks quite attractive with provided color combinations and transparent look.
- It loads faster now while considering the much needed 'offer-new add box' given at right side of EPG.
- Bigger EPG-channel information TEXT : appealing to all age personalities.

5) Channel Hangs and channel skipping while changing FW-RW : Fixed.No issue.
- Still NOT observed.So FIXed I guess from earlier version.
- However it takes bit more time (than earlier) to toggle between channels from one to another : Acceptable with Slow Processor-RAM speed.

6) External USB recording enabled with DDP enabled via HDMI.

Cons:
- General : Can Record One & Watch one only from same TP: Limitation: So won't be popular much for USB recording feature.
1) No Favorite channel list 'Channel COUNT' updated from 20 to 25. Like 1.25,26-50,51-75,76-99 with read,yellow,green & blue buttons.
2) As said No day-date provided in EPG with time.
3) Active service is still as same.Format needs to be changed or only Games,Puzzles & Helpdesk options should be there.
4) Active-Helpdesk: Package list is still not updated.

* Need to check on recording features-options as stated earlier.earlier. Plz get back if someone checked this.
i.e. - any update about usability of recording feature? ( with changing remote type option) If this is there ONLY then can say it really worth otherwise dump again.
a) Any shortcut keys provided as "red,green,yellow,Blue" for "Start Recording,F/F,R/F & Stop recording" respectively??
b) Any shortcut button provided like e.g. 'Help' to move to 'Recording list' directly??

REVIEW : Overall Looks Stable and acceptable : Rating 3.5 out of 5
----Now D2h should directly ADD HD channels around 7-8 and ROI Regional SD channels asap once all S/W 45 updates are done in next 2-3 days.----(with Hike of 80/- within 1 year to Platinum HD PK.)

Note : Now expect S/W update to Videocon HD DVR-4611, HD DVR 500 GB & HD DVR 1000GB.

Below are the lastest Videocon D2h HD STB models in order.Please someone mentione latest S/W versions respectively in table-excel format alongwith.

- Videocon D2h SDHD STB (2013-14) : with ext usb recording : small Black Color : RF remote : DW-ID :- xx
- Videocon D2h HD STB 2233 inbuilt FM (2014) : with ext usb recording : small White color : RF remote : DW-ID :-xx
- Videocon D2h HD STB 2222 (2013) : with ext usb recording : smallWhite color : RF remote : DW-ID :-xx
- Videocon D2h HD STB 2011 (2011 to 2014): now with usb recording : largeBlack color: Normal Remote : DW-ID : 20,25,40 and now 45 is latest

Note :
All these above said STBs have BIG limitation of USB recording : Only can record One and Watch one that too from same TP : Disgusting.
Hence If your priority is RECORDING then always invest in HD DVR and now wait only for Zigbee-Greenpeak+D2h upcoming HD DVRs n HD STBs which will have " Record multi and Watch multi Universal feature with Faster Processor-RAM Chipset-Zigbee.

After Update to ID 45 my Sony 32 LCD showing "576p SD" which was shown "1080i HD" at the start up when it was ID 20. Can anyone guide me about the issue?

it's another text bug being displayed at start only, however finally Resolution being displayed as 720P if auto or 1o80i if set so.

I have STB 2011 model, with latest firmware ID: 45. For me, no matter what resolution I select, the resolution on my TV shows 720p, 50Hz. I tried 1080i 50Hz and 1080i 60Hz, but no change in the output to the TV.

I ideal condition with videocon d2h box(with any h/w & no matter what's DW IDxx or45) should provide "1080P 50 Hz video resolution if your tv has 1080P 50 Hz video resoultion" and provide "1080i 50 Hz video resolution if your tv has 1080i 50 Hz" . {as per settings done in d2h box}

This is not happening with Videocon d2h HD STB 2011 box with current H/W.A big Limitation it carries.
I have reported this to them[since I'm getting also 720P in place of 1080P 50Hz what my Dell AIO Full HD LED provides.]

That's why d2h has no where stated about 1080i/1080P 50Hz video resolution in spec part of HD STB2011 n not talked also Full HD.

In addition to it they are not providing Dolby digital via HDMI(basic functionality) on your TV ...if it not works they saying it's compatibility issue but of TV instead of d2h box and quite reluctant to official compatible s/w update on d2h box 2011 which suits to TV and correct the issue.

how can customer change TV, infact the fact that D2h HD STB is not compatible itself.(no compatibility testing done like for Sony Bravia tv etc by them)

morever they keep talking more about Home theater purposly which comes later i.e. either to check DD via hdmi to HDMI HT or by Coaxial S/Pdif to HT.

don't know...actually main issue is with them..they believe in act..like itemgirl...
in-spite HD DVR 4611 provides DD5.1(if we see original spec of DSR PVR 4611 of Altach UEC) they keep saying that model doesn't support it with the h/w carry...n reluctant to provide compatible DD s/w update which sutis to TV n no ext usb recording s/w update to this DVR model till date even 3+ are completed.A big height.
a fight is going on.
