I have paired my remote successfully.

Now I need to update my STB. I have done a Factory Reset so hopefully it might trigger an OTA update

My brother is using the STB outside in India so Engineer visit is not be possible.

Can Videocon trigger a OTA software update from their office without a site visit?

The Engineer of my area update my 3333RF STB three months ago.So you contack CC.

My brother is using the STB in Sri Lanka so Engineer visit not possible. It is difficult to bring the STB when he travels back home because Engineer will check for the installation but I don't have it installed (I had SunDirect but now have cable in Trivandrum)

Any suggestion to force an over the air (OTA) update without an Engineer visit,

Does anyone have a link to a working (tested) Firmware file to update manually via USB?

I will be happy with any software higher than DID 3 as I have DID 3.

Hello Vadirocks,

Can you check with your sources if they can give you even a previous version of Software for HD 3333-RF STB?
Even a fairly older version is fine as my STB has only DID 3.

Is there anyway to backup the Flash Memory in the STB? In the US I used a program called Jkeys & Jtag to read, backup, modify, US STB. We used to force OTA update in the US by corrupting (deleting a very small segment of the TSOP (STB flash chip) and hook it up in the stream. It would get updated to the latest firmware in 10 minutes.

Can you refer me to any members with a technical knowledge?

Why is that everyone updating software manually, is that videocon will not update it ?

Videocon D2H tech support is garbage. It does not update by itself and there don't have an option to do a OTA Forced Options like some providers. So we have to do a manual upgrade via USB or pay Rs 200 and get a fool from Videocon (who by the way calls himself an Engineer) to do a manual update. Most of the time to so called Engineer (fool) can not do an update and they swap the STB and charge you for the STB as well.

I am thinking of getting Tata Sky HD. How is the picture quality

I downloaded Videocon D2H HD STB 3333 Software -DID 14
However when I copied in a USB and did a manual update it did not update.

So I Re-Formatted my USB in FAT32 (Regular Formatting - Not Quick Formatting)
Then copied the firm and did the manual update again and it worked like a charm.

Now my HD 3333-RF STB shows DID of 14

Finally updated to latest version!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
