David Warner has been named the country's best cricketer of the year, securing the Allan Border medal for the second year in succession. He become the fourth Australian cricketer who have won the medal more than once after Ricky Ponting, Michael Clarke and Shane Watson.

The Belinda Clark award for the best women's cricketer of the year went to Meg Lanning who secured the award for the third time following her superb form in limited-overs cricket. The 24-year-old, scored 1100 runs at an average of 50 with three hundreds and five half-centuries. She was also named the female domestic player of the year.

Mitchell Starc was rewarded for his fine performance in the five-day format as he was named Australia's Test cricketer of the year. Starc, who won the award for the first time in his career, also became the first bowler from Australia to be named the Test cricketer of the year since Brett Lee secured the honour in 2008.

Shane Watson, who retired from international cricket following the end of Australia's campaign in the T20 WC last year, was named the T20I cricketer of the year. Although he was the second highest run-scorer, behind Glenn Maxwell, Watson's all-round performance helped him secure the award for the third time in his career.

Veteran allrounder Cameron White was named the domestic player of the year, joining Darren Lehmann and Michael Klinger as the only players to have won the award more than once. White, scored 1408 runs at 54.15 across formats.

Hilton Cartwright and Sophie Molineux were named the male and female young cricketers of the year respectively. The 24-year-old Cartwright scored 926 runs at 44.10 and picked up 17 wickets across formats in domestic cricket to win the Bradman young cricketer of the year award. Molineux, the 18-year-old allrounder, won the inaugural Betty Wilson award thanks to strong performances in the WBBL and the Under-18 National Championships.
