^^ I think it is because Chrome use data to update ourself it don't requires the permission to add the necessary plugins where in other browser we have to manually do the same tats a reason I don't think this feature will introduce any time soon for other browsers if thinks technically.

But regarding the concept of keeping Mobile data on is totally ridiculous, OK few can use WiFi but what about those who don't have WiFi or using in other places where Network is not available then this feature will not work. If we kept are mobile data on then whats the requirement to use in Computer ? Its not only will keep deducting the data but battery of the mobile too.

no bro, i have tried it, it requires mobile data to be always on because it is just a mirror of the ,mobile.
