WWE NXT Results – 3/8/2017

Match Number One: Tye Dillinger versus Eric Young

Before the match starts, Roderick Strong is dragged into the entrance after being attacked by the members of Sanity.

Tye leaves the ring to check on Strong and Sanity enters the ring to join Young.

No Way Jose comes out to check on Strong.

Young tells Dillinger that he did that.

Match Number Two; Ho Ho Lun versus Andrade Almas
Winner: Andrade Almas

William Regal is with Ember Moon and he says that he has talked to Asuka and at Takeover Orlando, Ember Moon will face Asuka for the NXT Women’s Championship.

Ember says at Takeover, the Women’s Title will enter a new phase.

Match Number Three: TJ Perkins versus Shinsuke Nakamura
Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura

We go to William Regal in the office and he announces that the winner of next week’s match between Kassius Ohno and Bobby Roode will face Shinsuke Nakamura at Takeover.

Oney Lorcan vs. Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas

Asuka vs Priscilla Zuniga

Asuka will defend her title against Ember Moon at NXT TakeOver: Orlando and she used this match to make a statement. She took to the mic before the match started, calling out Ember and showing her what fate had in store for her.

She followed it with a kick to Zuniga’s head, taking her down. An unforgiving Asuka followed it up with more kicks as chants of “Asuka’s gonna kill you” broke out. Zuniga made the mistake of slapping Asuka across the face and the Empress replied with a jumping hip attack followed by a flurry of kicks to Zuniga’s chest. Asuka stalked her opponent before hitting her with a nasty German Suplex followed by a Buzzsaw Kick to the head.

The Empress then covered Zuniga but broke the count herself before the 3-count. She followed it up with knees to the chest followed by the Asuka Lock. Zuniga tapped out almost immediately but Asuka only broke the hold when she was finally satisfied.

SAnitY vs Tye Dilinger, No Way Jose and Roderick Strong

This feud has been brewing for a while on NXT. Matters came to head tonight with a 3 on 3 tag-team match between Eric Young, Killian Dain and Alexander Wolfe taking on Tye Dillinger, No Way Jose and Roderick Strong. The action started even before the bell rang as the babyfaces dragged Wolfe and Young to ringside and started landing blows on them. The match finally started with Dain and Strong in the middle of the ring.

Match ended by referee

Dillinger and Young were the only two men left in the ring at this point, as Dillinger looked to set Young up for the Tye Breaker. Nikki Cross came in at this point and jumped onto Tye Dillinger to try and throw him off his game.

A massive shock came at this point as the debuting Ruby Riot, who was known in the indies as Heidi Lovelace, and attacked Nikki Cross. She planted Cross face-first onto the mat before hitting a modified enzeguiri. Jose, Dillinger and Strong cleared the ring of the SAnitY members as the show went off air.

Match Number One: Peyton Royce (with Billie Kay) versus Aliyah

Match Number Two: Otis Dozovic and Tucker Knight versus Harv Sihra and Gurv Sihra
Winners: Otis Dozovic and Tucker Knight

Match Number Three: Oney Lorcan versus El Vagabundo
Winner: Oney Lorcan

After the match, security comes to the ring to escort Elias Samson out of the building but he says he is getting back into the ring. The security member puts him in a hammer lock and he is escorted out of the ringside area.

* The show opens with a “Takeover: Orlando” recap. There’s also a new intro video and theme song

* Aleister Black defeated Corey Hollis.

* Backstage promo with Tye Dillinger. Kayla Braxton congratulates him on debuting for SmackDown. Tye says next week he finishes his business with Eric Young inside a steel cage

* Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa defeated Dylan Miley and an unknown talent.

* Ruby Riot defeated Kimberly Frankele, formerly known as Kimber Lee.

* Andrade “Cien” Almas defeated Danny Burch.

* Drew McIntyre comes out for his return. He has new music with a bagpipe entrance

* Drew McIntyre defeated Oney Lorcan.

* Shinsuke Nakamura came out for a promo. He came to NXT one year ago and already had experience but he wanted to challenge himself against the best in the world. He commented on their singing and chanting and ended his promo by saying he will always be NXT because… “We Are NXT!” The entire roster came to the stage and applauded him. Nakamura walked to the stage and was met by Triple H and Finn Balor. He ran around the arena filming with his phone before bowing to everyone and making his exit.

* NXT Tag Team Champions The Authors of Pain defeated Kassius Ohno and Roderick Strong in a good match. Kassius and Strong had control until The Authors caught Roderick doing his through-the-ropes dropkick and slammed him into the LED board on the apron. The Authors hit The Last Chapter on Ohno for the win

* Jeet Rama defeated John Skyler. This may or may not be a dark match, as neither guy had a tron video for their entrance, but commentary was being done. This was an okay match, a showcase for Jeet. The crowd got behind him chanting his name. Jeet wins with a suplex into a side slam

* NXT Champion Bobby Roode out for a promo. He said for the 2nd year in a row, he made WrestleMania weekend glorious, as he single-handedly sold out the Amway Center and allowed them all to bear witness to the biggest box office star in the business today. Roode said he snuffed out the last flame of the old NXT and that he now controls NXT. He had to watch Shinsuke last week walk to his ring and watch as every star in NXT came and celebrated him. Roode said he wasn’t on that stage because he wasn’t going to listen to the crap that comes out of Shinsuke’s mouth. Roode said Nakamura didn’t leave, Roode ran him out of NXT embarrassed after Takeover. Roode said it made him sick to listen to everyone cheer and chant while he stands here as the champ. Nobody in this arena, nobody on the stage last week belongs in Roode’s NXT. Says you can either be a part of his NXT or you can hit the bricks. Hideo Itami interrupted him. Hideo and Roode go face to face and Hideo slaps Roode. Roode jawjacks at Hideo and takes his jacket off and starts yelling at Hideo, but Hideo nails the GTS and walks away. Hideo walks back into the ring and picks the belt up before tossing it at Bobby’s feet

* WWE UK Champion Tyler Bate retained over Jack Gallagher. Trent Seven, Pete Dunne, Mark Andrews, and Wolfgang were at ringside for this match.

* Liv Morgan and Aliyah defeated Peyton Royce and Billie Kay in a sloppy match.

* Nikki Cross came to the ring during the opening NXT chant. She got out of the ring and knelt down by Dasha Fuentes and called out Ruby Riot on the mic. Nikki told Ruby to come out and play. Ruby came down and they brawled around ringside. Nikki threw Ruby into the stairs as referees ran down to break it up. Nikki jumped off the stairs onto Ruby and security. Refs got them separated as a “let them fight” chant breaks out

* Drew McIntyre defeated Andrade “Cien” Almas

* Aleister Black defeated Kona Reeves.

* Ruby Riot came out for a match but Nikki Cross attacked her during her entrance. They brawled around ringside again. Refs and security try to separate them but Ruby jumped off the stage onto Nikki. Refs carried Nikki away to stop the brawl

* This was apparently taped for the April 19th episode and some other matches may have been taped out of order. Tye Dillinger defeated Eric Young in a Steel Cage match.
