WWE superstars like John Cena and Triple H will star in the animated sequel, Surf's Up 2: WaveMania.
Sony and WWE are teaming up for Surf's Up 2, which is planned to release in 2017. Both companies are co-financing and producing the film, with Sony distributing the sequel and WWE marketing it.
Along with Cena and Triple H, The Undertaker, Paige and Mr. McMahon are joining Surf's Up 2 as well. They voice a crew called The Hang 5.
The group will help Cody Maverick search for a legendary big-wave spot known as The Trenches. Shia LaBeouf voiced the penguin in the original.
Hotel Transylvania story artist Henry Yu is directing Surf's Up 2, with Abdul Williams scripting the film and Michelle Wong producing. Rainmaker Entertainment is the company behind the computer animation for the animated sequel.
