I think both things are technically possible, but may be broadcasters in India are giving seperate decoders to MSO/DTH for security reasons.....

AFAIK earlier old version of DTH STBs were capble of decoding separate channel o/p thru AV & RF out.....but DTH blocked the feature.....

Check this Technoglitch Bro.

Fingerprints of SS 1 and SS 3 are different and if both channels are coming from same decoder then finger print should be same too ? Also other operators should have different finger prints on these channels.

Every Channel needs a separate encoder and decoder.
