Media conglomerate is planning to launch an English movie channel under ‘&’ brand called &flix. The broadcaster is awaiting approval from the ministry of information and broadcasting (MIB) to launch the new channel.

“We are planning to an English movie channel &flix. We are waiting for approval from the MIB,” Zee Unimedia COO Ashish Sehgal told.

The new channel will be positioned as a premium channel, however, it will target the mass audience. &flix will have a movie premiere every week.

ZEE is gearing up for the launch of its new English movie channel – &Flix. The group is also planning to enter Kerala and Punjab in a big way. Besides, the acquisition of 9X Media is seen as complementing the group’s movie and music publishing business.

"We are very excited about our latest offering – &Flix, an English movie channel. We will have a premiere lined up every week", says Ashish Sehgal.
