The must have faced some tech glitch in SD channels so they used their HD channels and telecasted it in downscaled D format for SD viewers. At 9:15 PM both SD channels were back. But one thing is for sure after that , Zee Cafe HD is ready for launch

I think it makes sense for a lot of broadcasters to run a single feed.

They run HD only and downscale it for SD subscribers.

In fact, not only is it beneficial for the channel, but also for the dtho/mso as it frees up the frequency for more channels.

For example, a channel like Star plus or Sony has to produce programmes in HD. Even those boring soaps. So they can easily do away with the SD feed.

Currently Nat Geo and Discovery have different SD and HD feeds as HD is a combined feed for other Asian markets while SD is localised for India.

I don't think Downscaled channels free up any space and any how it will consume one channel space in one TP because Operators have to uplinked it.

Regarding contents it must be shoot with HD camera then adjusted for SD channel.

Logo is Zee Studio but ads showing Zee Studio HD

I have been getting Zee Studio HD since long that too with HD on logo. I took this picture on 17th Feb when I had issue with EPG

HD logo for Zee Studio is there since launch. Sometimes because of the animation, it goes and comes. But its there most of the times.
