Because STAR having 2 HD sports channels but TEN not tats a reason they provide live matches in full screen.

But yes STAR SPORTS used to show County matches with cropped screens even in SD channels which looks weird

Movies Now don not have SD feed. It was launched in HD feed only. History TV is having both HD and SD feed I guess.

So, that the reason Dish is down scaling HD feed and showing in full screen and other operators are showing SD feed of History TV.

cinemascope on tv is shown with black bars because not to screw up the AR in current HDTV. If you want to avoid black bars then the projector is the only option.
