I'm using HD right now .Planning to upgrade to DVR, but have been forced to put it on hold because of financial constraints currently.

I have not seen much of HD model. But what I have heard from my friends, the UI is same. Remote is recorder remote, but for USB recording of HD box if you have already purchased recorder remote, then it is the same remote. DVR response time is bad, but guess little bit better. This slowness as I know did not exist earlier. But when they launched USB recording and allowed HD boxes to update with DVR UI everything got messed up. But frankly I have little experience of HD box so cannot really compare reliably.

DVR I have...but not much of experience of HD box so can't provide comparison in real sense. What I can tell you that it is very very average DVR with respect to other available options in market in terms of slowness, playback options etc. One real advantage you have here is that it has 1000GB space and now with increasing HD channels, 1000GB is the need of hour. One good option in playback is bookbark of recrding (which allows you to directly reach to point where you have marked the recording. Another feature is rename of file. So like you have watching some episode and you want to rename it in some specific way, you have that option. Time based recording is another good thing. But in many other aspects the box lags (one such example is, suddenly recording gets deleted, at least it happen once or twice with me, buffer recording start and end time gets reset to zero).

I won't suggest upgrading to HD DVR. It a costly and buggy investment bro. I think you should stick to HD Box.

But USB Recording having limitation and you knows that and also yo have to pay for the facility which is already limited

for me only audio is coming in Telugu Mosaic PIP( in both Page 1 and 2) , all other MOSAICS are working fine..
