From what I understood all such Windows 7, 8 and Windows Phone users who have purchased Microsoft products or software in last one year will be Windows 10 updates and support for life time and remaining all users will get upgrade for free and support for 1 year.

I read yesterday that this is applicable only to certain mobile phones and tablet with screen size under 8 inches.......
Desktops & big tabs owner will have to pay yearly service charge or royalty to MS now onwards....

No official information but presently they're busy collecting interested users upgrade data. I submitted for a win 7 laptop and Windows phone. Let's see when and what I receive in next email from Microsoft
