Just a week after Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) released its maiden TV viewership data, a diktat has come from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) to stop publishing rating figures till the agency gets registered. As per the guidelines, TV rating agencies have to obtain the registration from the ministry. However, BARC’s registration with the MIB is still in progress. BARC executives are expected to speak to the MIB officials today afternoon to sort out the matter, a source told TelevisionPost.com. BARC’s TV viewership data releases every Wednesday.

"BARC’s application for registration was submitted early November 2014 and it is still under progress."

Removing TAM & launching BARC was decided many months back....So why BARC didn't got registered early......Now it seems that they are confident of resolving the issue by talking to MIB.

Then what's the truth on BAARC's figure ?
I think they have not registered but started working & collecting data....
They claim to be bigger audience measurement system employing latest tech in a transparent manner.
