The ongoing battle between the Tamil Nadu Theatre Owners Association(TTOA) and Kamal Haasan on the topic of Vishwaroopam’s DTH release has just taken a dramatic twist. Popular Cineplex Devi Theatres have offered to screen Vishwaroopam on the announced date of January 11th and seemingly standing opposed to what the TTOA have requested from its members.
TTOA’s General Secretary has categorically gone on record saying that they will not support or co-operate with theatres that screen Vishwaroopam. Devi Cineplex’s decision could trigger an effect where many more theatres would boldly take the same decision and give the film a big release in Chennai.
But, one thing is for sure, there definitely is as much tension as there is anticipation for Vishwaroopam as the all important date draws closer and closer.
