Breaking News TATA(SKY Moving To MPEG4

MUMBAI: ESPN Software India (ESIPL) today announced that it has signed agreements with Tata Sky and Sun Direct to enable distribution of its newly launched channel Star Sports 2.
Star Sports 2 is airing the on-going ICC Champions Trophy 2013 live with Hindi commentary.

In addition, Sun Direct consumers will now also enjoy access to High Definition channels like Star Cricket HD and ESPN HD. Star Cricket and Star Cricket HD are airing the ICC Champions Trophy 2013 in English.

Speaking to indiantelevision.com Tata Sky CEO Harit Nagpal said that the channel is available only on MPEG 2. At the same time the company is moving towards MPEG 4 technology and its new standard definition boxes are also incorporating this technology.

As had been reported earlier by indiantelevision.com ESS resolved its dispute with Airtel Digital TV has signed a multi-year agreement with the DTH platform to enable distribution of its channels Star Cricket, Star Sports, Star Sports 2, ESPN, Star Cricket HD and ESPN HD on the DTH platform.

Well i have been listening to all stories of TS since 2009 ... new sat ... new TP Vertical horizontal polarization...now it's a new one ... How much fake and false news can TS spread ... rather they should make them self equipped and then roll out media brief ... And the statement is from their chief ... they are just loosing their credibility ... Any big company specially technology or service provider does not reveal it's product till it's in completion mode ... in this case they cry loud to say yes we are doing something it's a Bull !!!!!

They will be getting it Sir. Migration to MPEG 4 was expected. I think we had this discussion long back and now its happening.

Reason for not getting the New SAT is completely political. We have to wait more for Satellite atleast 3-4 months as per the info i have received. Tata Sky has already completed its deal for adding a BIG-BIG chunk of channel . It will be highest bulk addition if added in one shot.

I am planning to move out of Tata Sky and get D2H connection back even if they launch new channels as there package is pathetic and unfair for HD channels
