How dare they ask money? And why is Govt. not strong enough to tell them firmly? Operators cannot be allowed to threaten Govt. like this!
But having said that, don't you think that given the current space crisis faced by dth, 32 channels are too many?
Upto 10-15 channels would be ok, but 32 channels? But that, in no way gives right to any dth operator to threaten the Govt!!

And as far as dish tv is concerned, they haven't added these channels to their own platform either. They just got lucky that these channels are running fta from gsat15, which falls in their range, and thus they added them, not using up any space of their own! But similar thing is not possible for companies like airtel and tata sky...

For your information, these 32 channels are not from dd free dish

We end users get everything from Satellite, even if DTH operator uses their data servers it has to be relayed through satellite for us to view it.

Tat won't take enough space entire 32 channels can be added in 1 data channel.

DTH operators will argue that their bandwidth is limited and if they need to add these channels then govt should give additional space or give them some tax benefits. Nobody here is doing charity. Govt has given license and it is also earning good amount of revenue in terms of Taxes from DTH operators.

If there was Tata Sky, it would take minimum Rs.20 per channel
So 640 rupees for 32 channels

These are FTA channels. DTH operators usually charge carriage fees to add FTA channels on their platform. If Govt is firm in getting these channels added on all DTH platforms they can do it even without giving a penny, they have to be very strict with these operators

Government should give 1 transponder free to all DTH
All problem will be solved
This one transponder will consist of 32 educational & other mandatory DD channels

Both RDTV & Sun Direct can add same TP and can broadcast these 32 channels for free but instead of doing that they asking 5 crore Rs. from Govt. for 1 channel it means 32x5 = 160 crore Rs. indirectly these Operators & their company concern wants to do business for free in India and invest that money into Middle East - Africa where terrorist bomb peoples every day.

For every year. Even Govt. is not charging this much for the license fee and infact without paying to Govt. DTH are enjoying distributing service in India as still license fee case is pending to get resolve.
