Yes it is from the start in every DTH operator. You have to read the documents to see that. Tata sky also had this clause when I bought it. And i have bought this straight from Dish no dealer.

They are not following cheap tactics bro. They are following what TRAI has asked to do. Earlier when there was only Dish TV, such rules were not there. But later in with multiple operators these kind of policies were made by TRAI.

But normally companies fool peoples with such ruling they took whoopy amount from the customers and said that its a rent scheme.
