I just wants to add 16:9 AR can be viewable in CRT TV there is no compulsory to add black bars, I personally feeling that operators purposely tweaking AR just to sell HD add Ons and now Broadcasters joining a hands to be partial with a particular platform.

For me letter box on CRT is better.....otherwise picture may lose @25-30%.....

Maybe you are an exception but the purpose of letter box is to make the images fit into small screen. You are just blaming the dth ops/broadcasting without knowing the basic information...

Yes there are separate feeds for SD and HD for now. They will remove SD feed when everybody has switched to HD feed

Yes because I feel SPORTS broadcaster need that concept more then anyone, BTW if you put a black bars on a channel then it decrease the picture further in CRT TV wont help people.
