People will always give preference to full screen
I think Dishtv STB doesn't have option for setting AR properly so the only limited option for AR setting is from TV end....Yes & my DTH is also different

Means in other DTH STB we can set Aspect Ration ?
There is a option available in dishtv STB and I won't saw any affect.
I think 4:3 looks bigger so sometimes few people like to watch that way instead of 16:9 LB AR.....
Btw I found only 2 channels, Al Jazeera & France 24 for which AR can be set as per viewer wish & after setting AR, it actually set the picture in that particular AR without stretching......Don't know what tech they use but other international channels doesn't have this feature....
yes...I also found that it doesn't work properly.....may be other DTH STBs having more options like DVR which must be having more features & options....

Does putting blackbar gives us full picture in CRT TV ? If 16:9 covers more pixel then why loose necessary picture ? Probably in Top and Side but how much ?
I have connected cable STB to 25" CRT.....So I prefer 16:9 LB....then STB sets proper AR.....
