We demand more channels without any cost? Its not possible .

I think in future there will be systematic pack according to what we like to watch because we can't pay for 100 of HD channels. Dth will offer select any 30 to 40 channels for fix amount.
For ex. Any 20 HD channels for 100

The best way is to launch many packages. There are many people who don't watch Sports channels, but pay for it. It's better to launch base packages dedicated to English entertainment, Kids, Music etc. This will save a lot of money of users and would be very much appreciated.
Suppose there was a package worth 350 offering Hindi channels and English movie/entertainment channels along with HD feed. I could have saved 550-350=200 rupees per month, which I am paying for Sports channels, which are the most expensive of the all all genre.

I agree withvishal point but i think dth company dont want to take more headache to manage many packs...

I think pick by pick channel is better option if wants to see only English channel otherwise I don't think any platform will gonna launch any kind of dedicated English channel platform.

Really nice to have this.....
But this may affect ARPU of the company as DTH may have some kind of business plans for future.....

I think it makes easier for DTH to plan & foresee ARPU when there are less packs available....thus reducing choice to viewers & indirectly forcing them for upgrade...

Already many DTH have made subscribing to pure a-la-carte a mockery, practically making it pointless for most of the viewers.....

So We can see that while D2H has many packs while Airtel has less.....So it seems it affects choice of the viewer & help increase ARPU......

Videocon D2H Increasing all its base pack price w.e.f 12th feb i.e. tomorrow onwards .

New Price are

Super Gold Pack 241*(231) [*<-10->*]
Gold Maxi Pack 270*(260) [*<-10->*]
New Gold Sports Pack 325*(310) [*<-15->*]
New Diamond Pack 385*(370) [*<-15->*]
Platinum Pack 445*(425) [*<-20->*]
Platinum HD Pack 590*(550) [*<-40->*]

Note: * Mark are new Price of base packs and no new additional channel will be added in base pack
