HD ready and Full HD has difference, of course. No doubt about it.
But HD content looks sharper and brighter on a HD ready TV, compared to SD content which is not as sharp and is dull in colors and brightness.
Yeah tat because of poor PQs of SD channels. All HD channels are available in MPEG 4 DVB S2 but many carriage fee channels are still available in MPEG 2 also SD channel PQ depends on how much DTH compress the channel.

I can give my side of experience as i have used both very recently. I was using a HD ready Videocon Hurricane 24 TV with HD STB.

· Significant difference in SD & HD channels can be observed on 24 Inches

· Brightness & contrast level of HD ready TV is much lower than Full HD LED TV

· The white level in LED is brighter and more real then HD ready TV where white colour looks more off white & pale

· Over all contrast of LED is significant better then HD ready LCD.

· 50 Inch Micromax LED TV gives a better brighter & crisp images and have a have a true deep black levels which was not prominent in HD ready where black colour looked like dark gray.

· High Speed images & motion was not captured well in 24 Inch TV, while a full HD 50 inches can capture and deliver images of fast moving objects.

· USB & processing speed of HD ready & full HD is significantly different.

· HD ready TV cannot play full HD content 1080P

Thus if anyone is planning to buy a LED go for Full HD as the cost difference between a HD ready & Full HD TV is marginal. When you are spending 25K to 30 K it always advisable to spend that differential small amount which can add value to your over all viewing experience

Nice review sunnysep1. I ordered mine on Flipkart couple of days back and expecting it to reach me on Saturday. I was really very skeptical all along becasue what ever reviews were there on the sites were limited and not very detailed. Went with my gut feel, but after reading your review and looking at the pics, i am happy that I made a good decision.

I have couple of questions regarding the TV
1. Do we need a stablizer and if yes what should its wattage.
2. Does Micromax allow users to buy extended warranty.

Thanks once again for the wonderful review .
