apart from that, even the drug names are censored and other group names.

there was an episode of spooks in which British secret society had a conspiracy plan to assassinate Princess Diana(given her state) and covered up as an accident. Later an year her security guy commits suicides and inturn her lover attempts to wipe out the entire Royal family.
If the plot is similar and changed according to the Indian politics, this would never be aired.

I think even Indian Story writers and Directors will never dare to write " This Story is based on Real Incidents " in the start of movie anytime as censorship will always curb the truth but the same censor board will allow Mahesh Bhat and Ekta Kapoor to spread vulgarity across the planet.

Woody Allen’s latest movie “Blue Jasmine” will not debut in India this weekend after the filmmaker objected to anti-tobacco ads that the Indian government requires cinemas to play before and during movies that feature scenes with characters smoking.

Allen refused to make “customisations” in the film to accommodate the ads, which led to distributor PVR Pictures cancelling the release, said two sources familiar with the matter. Both sources declined to comment because they were not authorized to talk about it with journalists.

But filmmaker can't make such rigidness. They have to comply the norms of every country they wish to release their movie.
