Breaking News DTH Interoperability order passed by TRAI

On my new HD d2h box there was a sticker saying this box to belongs to d2h and they can take it back whenever they want.

Same in dishtv HD box.

So what will be the profit earned by them if they give entire amount to each

Order is itself creating lot many doubts.

Also they will check that box is well maintained or not or in proper conditions depending upon that they will give refunds

In that case why people will change the particular DTH ?

There is no benefit in this new interoperability. Only benefit is you can get refund of your recharge amount. That's it

I don't think any DTH would have sold hardware in outright.

Rule is so twisted that better people will keep the hardware give it back because they know DTH will lure them with special recharges.

Rule will apply to new connections taken after it is implemented, old stb's r under rental purchase

Disappointed to see only commercial portability.....Trai is not thinking of customers properly.
Such schemes won't succeed & DTH will make sure to discourage customers for portability.

Until and unless 1 standard CPE which is based on every DTH is not available in the market you can't expect operator portability.

Why cann't Trai implement CAM tech properly for portability....I think they issued some guidelines for DTH STBs for implementations of CI years back.....Seems only Dishtv is following it.

Yes and no other DTH opens the CI slot tats a reason dishtv discontinued the freedom card. I don't know whether other DTH STBs having CI slots or not ?

Well TRAI have been pushing it from many days. But with Different encryption and compression technologies it would be difficult to implement. The thread already started by aumnamonarayan bro. Moderators kindly merge the thread.
