“We are reorganising and restructuring our business from an Indian film company to an Indian content company to increase the return of investment, profitability and margins,” Jyoti Deshpande, group chief executive officer and managing director of Mumbai-based Eros International, said in an interview last week. “We are applying many principles of FMCG companies like market research and product launches to the film business,” Deshpande said. In three years,

Eros is hoping to produce at least 125 films a year instead of 60-70 currently. Some of its recent productions include NH10, Badlapur, Raanjhanaa and English Vinglish. The company recently acquired Techzone India, a mobile value addition services company

They might loose a huge percentage of a revenue from telecast rights if they planning to launch new channels.

Also Kishore Lulla is one of the partner of B4U then why wants to start EROS named channel ?

We already having craps like UTV Movies and if EROS launches the new channel then it will be utter crap too.

Eros says it is weighing options of launching a Hindi movie channel

Pure-play film production house Eros International Media is weighing options of launching a Hindi movie channel. The new channel could be housed under Eros International Plc, the holding company of Eros International Media. Eros, however, has not finalised its plans. Eros International group CEO and MD Jyoti Deshpande had told TelevisionPost.com that the company was looking at launching a Hindi movie channel.

“Our content deal for HBO Hits and HBO Defined is over and our content is being phased out of the channels. Going ahead, we plan to launch our own Hindi movie channel to exploit the syndication revenue model,” Deshpande said.

So no more Hindi movies in HBO Premium channels.

I may welcomes EROS moves but nowhere days a pattern developed that ordinary movies channels run movies of a title like "Main Hoon Jangbaaz", " Sabko Jaladunga", "Mard no. 1","Meri Takat Meri Mutthi Mein"," Shera The Diller" and original movies goes to Premium channels.

Already we're pay like a hell for a base pack and if broadcasters continues to thinks like this then days are not far that we might start thinking to deactivate our TV connection.
