Update :

Negotiations are on a continuous level between Star and Hathway. Reason: India's tour of Australia for test, one day matches and the world cup.

With Hathway having atleast a 30-40% presence in big cities n metros, Star Sports will not only lose TRPs, but ad revenue too if too many homes miss out.

Viewers may not really be affected as DD might beam the world cup too. But Star will lose out.

Hathway too might lose customers as they might move to DTH.

Whatever the outcome, customers are in a quandary!

I don't think there is any negotiation going on. Hathway is going to introduce new packages from December 1st and Sports and English channels will be on the higher packages.

If you go to this page Hathway Digital Cable it says "Revised packages will be available from 1st Dec 2014. Await announcement"

Lets see what happens as time is short for matches.....People are not yet ready to pay a-la-carte for channels in India. Most probably Star would lose viewership if this continues,

I think HD channels are also a-la-carte in Hathway, thats why one has to pay.
