RealVU - New DTH for Bangladesh

BEXIMCO to launch RealVU DTH service
BEXIMCO Communications Limited, a joint venture between Beximco Group and Russian GS Group, on Thursday announced to launch the country’s first Direct-to-Home television service named RealVU.
DTH is a digital satellite television distribution service where consumers receive television signals directly from the satellite through a device installed in their home without existing cable-based system.
‘We are ready to provide DTH services under the brand name of RealVU by April-May at the consumer level that will drastically change the viewing experience of the Bangladeshi TV audience,’ said BEXIMCO Communications chief executive officer Dmitry Lapitskiy while speaking at the press conference held at a city hotel.
He said that the monthly bill for DTH service will be around Tk 300 but he did not reveal the price of the set-top-box required for enjoying the service.
He also said that in the beginning the subscribers can only use one set-top-box for one TV. ‘But we have plans to introduce sharing service in future,’ he said.
