I think everyone highlighting same why ts not move on gsat but here is fact

When gsat 10 get nod from govt in 2007 it was additional satellite in this orbit. Later it launched in 2012 successfully, everyone think same as it was scheduled additional but ICC and isro take a decision in March 2013 that Gsat 10 will be replacement of INSAT 4A that time ts agreed for swap tp (don't know why) but in April may June ts search option its not possible to get nod from govt for use of foreign sat in very short time so later ts taken decision to move on MPEG4 so denied to swap tp because they realise mpeg4 is short term solution for only next 2 and hardly 3 yrs. Again future will be dark so why not use refusal right and move on foreign sat in this 2yrs.

I don't know much English but I think I write understanding simple word.

Also ask him why he is not moving to GSAT10 and also completing MPEG4 Migration which will give ample bandwidth. Plz someone raise this question thru e-mail with him and let us know if he responds
First of all tata Sky's intention is clear, ts never going to add all channel like dish tv or d2h but thy will provide all good channels.

If they complete MPEG 4 migration with gsat 10, what after 2 year later. Again no space.

Yaar, aap dono kaisi baat kar rahein ho. They could have easily taken GSAT10 TP's plus moved all channels to MPEG4 which would have given ample bandwidth for next 2 years and in next 1 or 2 years ISRO is already slated to launch replacement satellite for Insat 4A at 83 degrees east.

Plz note, GSAT 10 was originally not a replacement satellite for Insat 4A but as its launch got delayed by more than 5 years so DOS offered it as a replacement to Tata Sky. Replacement Sat of Insat 4A will be launched in next 1 or 2 years if Tata Sky decides to stay ta same orbit and take GSAT10..

But if Tata Sky has lost faith in ISRO and decided to opt for a Foreign Satellite then its fine too but they need to take the shift soon

aumnamonarayan, can you please provide any source where they have mentioned that ISRO is going to launch replacement satellite for Insat 4A?

Yup. Tata Sky could have achieved hell lot of space if they have migrated to GSAT 10 with MPEG4. I am curious to know what their vision and plan is for future regarding Transponder space.
Airtel , dish tv , d2h already have same bandwidth currently so in next some year they will again way ahead than ts so what is sense to migrate on gsat 10 because this is also short term solution. Currently no problem but here question is isro trustable? We know not because they fail to launch planned satellite within timeframe so how can we expect isro will plan and launch a satellite quickly. Whatever the reasons behind this but isro is

aumnamonarayan Bro. I agree each and everything what you just say in fact I too say the same thing that GSAT 10 is not a replacement of Insat 4 A but offered as a replacement. Within 2, 3 years replacement SAT of Insat 4 A gonna launch.

But I don't think TS is any way make new space because addition of more channels will increase of content cost and this is not what TS want.
