Yeah. Before that backup all important data.

When I 1st rooted my phone, I followed all steps but lost everything.

Also, don't forget to backup your existing ROM if you plan for installing a another ROM.

Rooting doesn't have any risk. It just remove a lock which stops us for manipulating developer settings.

So, if you're just rooting, nothing will be lost

Pls correct me if I am wrong. In your first post you said you lost everything while in next post you said nothing will be lost.

What if I am only interested in rooting ? Maybe I'll think of ROMs later on.Only rooting has any benefits for all the trouble taken?
