Bhaskarkilli...dish tv does not charge a penny for sometime and then they remove the same from base pack...I am not following dish tv these days otherwise I would have given you several examples, but for now I remember colors hd being offered as a la carte (although it is not a case of upscaled to true hd as such) and if I correctly remember then zee cinema hd, upscaled was available and then true hd was not in the same pack (I may not be quoting exactly correct example may be)

I agree Shiwesh Kumar Bro.Even I am also Dish Tv user.I said present Dish is not charging but i did not say Dish TV will do it same in future also.Here the topic about bandwidth so main point it Dish Tv is do not accommodating extra bandwidth for this channel.

Tillu bro I think for real HD version or upscale HD verion it will take same bandwidth in any DTH.But for upscaling or downgrading any channel DTH has to take permission from Broadcaster.dish TV already done and had been given upscale version.Now they removed it and added original HD version.so what? for that dish TV is not charging single penny extra in fact dish TV not announce the package details also.For Dish TV there is no extra bandwidth consume where as for other DTHs they have to accommodate extra bandwidth for this HD channel.

bhaskarkilli brother, addition of any new HD channel in DTH will not require any new permission as it's part of deal with Broadcaster. Whereas since the permission of up-scaling is already taken for channel, still it will be required to sign the new deal corresponding to new HD addition.Only here either the deal of up scaling (process) will get closed or get adjusted in signing new HD channel deal.
And any new HD-SD channel would require Bandwidth it's universal theory , nothing new it.Getting added up scaled HD version was also required BW at the time of addition.So why are we comparing and conflicting these 2 different categories.
At EOD my tp space-BW getting utilized at same % in both the cases.It's similar to either I wear Shirt 1st then jeans or vice-versa considering I had to pay same in both cases.

They were already advertising themselves to provide upscaled Pix HD. So, bandwidth was already allocated and no question arises of any new bandwidth allocation.

That could be the reason deal would have worked out for them.

Also up scaled PIX HD is Only reason/criteria for cracking the deal of PIX HD channels to Dish TV, then other DTH's soon will add up scaled HD version of all upcoming HD channels to platform so they could crack the deal for each and every new HD,being number 1 in the race.
They can further climb one step ahead by making this deal transparent only to DTH-BC and Not visible to Customer's anyhow till the HD addition make move.
Were they having upscaled HD version of other added channels HBO Premium HD n Romedy Now+??? No right, since these were launched newly.

dishtv added SONY PIX HD first because they have a good relationship with SONY MSM.

Again you missed the track.Dish TV added upscale version of HD channels becasue that time we dont have this much of HD channels and Dish TV having separate satellite for HD channels so they added upsclae versions.yes,I agree for adding new HD channel they have to sign a new contract,but it will be easy for Dish TV because they are having bandwidth for this channel.
any DTH can add upscale version is not at all possible in present scenario because except Dish TV no other DTH having this much of space to add huge HD channels.If there is not enough space for true HD channels then how any DTH can add upsclae versions?

Bro. money is not everything if its everything then TATA(SKY having a lot then why not adding History HD, Travel XP HD, SONY PIX HD don't say that they don't have a space they can make a space to fulfill their customers demand.
