Sony should launch English music channel first
& regional sony channels like sony Marathi, punjabi, Odia etc.

Sony Pictures Networks India Private Limited is all geared up to launch its new high definition premium English movie channel Sony Le Plex HD. The network is in the process of seeking regulatory clearances and approvals. Subject to obtaining such approvals, the launch is planned around June 2016.

The channel will serve the discerning audiences who seek entertainment beyond the mainstream movies from Hollywood.

Sony Le Plex HD will serve avid movie viewers with films that are popular and critically acclaimed. The focus for the channel would be to present the movies in a manner not seen before.

The network has made significant investment in securing rights for movies from Hollywood and the premieres on the channel which includes Spotlight, Ex-Machina, Foxcatcher and Straight Outta Compton to name a few and will also be home to critically acclaimed movies like The Inglorious Basterds, Schindler’s List, Taxi Driver, Gladiator, Philadelphia, etc.

There is no competition to Star in English language genre. If Viacom would launch a channel then it would get interesting. Sony is totally Indian, they're putting Sony's name down. They hardly premier 3-4 good movies in a year. More than 85% of premieres in English entertainment and movies happen on Star's network of channels.

Not even close. If you will see Star's reach in English genre. You will be baffled. They premier movies from almost all Hollywood movie distribution companies. Exceptions are only Columbia/Sony pictures and Warner Bros.
20th Century Fox, Universal, Disney are exclusive to Star.

Paramount is one which is not exclusive to any of these but still I believe Star has many of their movies. Movies Now is neutral in the competition and rarely airs any movie. But their telecast library consist of all distribution companies, which is common now. Because you can see all the movies which premiered on Star now also runs on Sony, Zee Studio and Movies Now etc.

if we take Library in the matter I think except star movies select HD all the English movies channels completely repeating their movies.In my view all channels are same nothing more nothing less.I think it Plex channel will be like Star movis select HD and they will give more movies because except action and super hero movies all other movies will come for less cost.that is the reason most of the companies are coming with these kind of channels and TRP also gradually increasing.
