Well there is another issue for MPEG4 DVBS only STBs. They cant get DVBS2 Signals if TA give SD Channels in DVBS2. If those MPEG4 STBs r compatible with DVBS2 then its ok. I think TS will migrate to MPEG4 DVBS2 itslf as i feel . If they migrate to MPEG4 DVBS then no issues in those STBs.

I think this technology change over is more important than GSAT 10 at this point of time...I am sure TS will get it sooner than later...

Have a question, now that TS is providing offers for existing customers to migrate from old STB (MPEG2) to new STB (MPEG4) and asking customers to pay for the technology shift? what if the customer does not want to buy a new technology and if the customer wanted to view all the channels? what will happen in that scenario for the company? (just a wild thought)

Taken Reference from Many forums & Blogs:-

1. First mpeg4 dvbs2 stb was launched on sep-oct 2009(front written mpeg4 black color with compo out) then after all stb r Mpeg4.

2. All SD+,HD,HD+ r Mpeg4 dvbs2.

So TS have to change all stb before Oct 09.

Thanks for providing the information it means my SD+ is MPEG 4 dvbs2....:)

Coming to your point i guess atleast 10-15% of the those people who were with TS before Oct 2009 they would have migrated to either HD or HD+ or SD+...this is my assumption...
