I thought battery is weak hence at times buttons won't work in mine and after reading yours rf remote is poor quality. I have to press hard the numeric keys so that stb recognizes

Same problem was with my remote. I had to press hard the volume buttons. Or sometime if we press Channel+ button once 2-3 channels skips.

^ true a channel skips on a single press due to delayed response in stb.

on pressing * button sound equalizer can be selected and # for menu language change.
